Texas Provisional License Question. Need A Answer!!!!!!?

I am in driving school and I passed my test for my permit. The teacher keeps on saying you get your permit at 15 and at 16 you will get your Provisional License from the DPS. I am already 16 so do I go to the DPS after drivers ed is over?
