Question about my permit and online drivers training. For texas?

I just finished my online coarse a few weeks ago. Im going to DPS Tomorrow to try and get my permit. And i just now found out that You only need to get six hours in the coarse to go get your permit. unfortunetlly i diffident know that a long time ago when i reached six hours. So, im 16 now, so basically i would have had my licence by now. So will i Still have to wait six months now for my licence.
